Day of week
was it on Saturday?
Depending upon the type of organization being audited, the auditor may expect to see more transactions on certain days of the week than others. For example, in a retail environment there may be more sales and other transactions on a Saturday than any other day of the week.
Any sort of date transaction can readily be classified as to the day of the week it falls on. Also, it is possible to plot the counts of transactions by day of week. If desired, the auditor can then do a data extract for these (or other) transactions.
An example chart is shown above. It shows that transactions on Thursdays were the most common, with Sunday, Monday and Wednesday being the least common.
