Command Overview - Sampling

Sample size requirements can be computed using the "samp" command which shows the results on the Excel Status Bar. Once a sample has been selected and evaluated, the precision achieved can be computed using the "prec" command which shows the results on the status bar.

Two types of sampling are supported:

  • The cma command is used to select a cumulative monetary amount sample
  • The IS command is used to select an interval sample

The sampling commands support four types of data sources:

  1. Data on a worksheet within an Excel Workbook
  2. A highlighted range within a worksheet
  3. A text file in tab separated value format
  4. A database, such as MS-Access of MySQL
