Load Commands

Command Overview

The load command takes entries stored in the system registry, worksheet or database and stores them in the drop-down toolbar (replacing anything that was there before). Commands may be stored in groups, which allow many commands to be stored in the system registry. The name of the group must be specified when the command is entered. During installation of the software, a default group, named “cmd”, is installed.

Command Syntax

The syntax for the command depends upon the data source where the commands are loaded from.

Registry

In the toolbar enter the command “lc name=group”, where group is the name assigned to a group of commands when they are stored using the sc command.

WorkSheet

In the toolbar enter the command “lc sheet=Sheetname ulc=celladdress ”, where Sheetname is the name of the worksheet containing the commands and ULC is cell address of the upper left hand corner, the starting point for the command load.

File

In the toolbar enter the command “lc file=filename”, where filename is the name of the file to be loaded (assumed to contain a single column of commands. If the file name contains embedded spaces, it must be enclosed in quotation marks.

Syntax

The command is entered on the command line as the command name ( "lc") followed by the name of the command group which is stored in the registry and was created as the result of a previous save command.

An example of the command is: lc name=ben

In this instance, a command group named "ben" had previously been saved in the registry.

Assuming that the commands had been saved from a sheet named text with a range with an upper left hand corner of a9 and a column name of command, the save command would have been entered as:

sc name=ben sheet=Text ulc=a9 col=command

The following is a listing of all parameter values for the lc command:

Argument name Description Example
Common Parameters (Required for all)
sheet Name of the source worksheet to load commands $Cmd
ulc Upper left hand corner (optional - if omitted defaults to a1) c2
file name of file to be loaded c:\temp\cmd.txt
name Name of the command group stored in the registry ben

An example

An example of the command is: lc name=ben

In this instance, a command group named "ben" had previously been saved in the registry.

Output from the processing will be entries stored in the drop down list of the XL Audit commander.

After the process button is clicked, the commands will be loaded into the drop down list and the first command in the list will be displayed:
