Command Control

Command Control Facility

As set commands are processed, their values are stored on a separate worksheet in the active workbook. This sheet has the name "$Control" and is created and maintained automatically as commands are processed. The primary purposes of the control facility are to:Maintain a record of the commands entered for reference and possible inclusion in the work-papers

  • Simplify the process of entering commands
  • Help ensure consistency of processing
  • Provide a limited audit trail of the processing performed

The organization of the control sheet

The sheet is created and maintained automatically as set commands are entered. The sheet may be manually updated and changed, but be aware that processing of commands stops at the first blank line encountered. This if command values are to be deleted, the row itself should be deleted (not just changed to blank values)
