Some business are open seven days a week and have their heaviest volumes on weekends. Others are open only Monday through Friday and may have a fairly even volumne of business throughout the week. Unusual patterns can sometimes be obtained by comparing the occurence of transactions on each day of the week between groups or parts of the population and that of the overall population.
